Qtel’s special Fan Zone will offer a huge range of entertainment and excitement this weekend, as part of the celebrations of the Emir’s Cup 2011 Finals in association with the Qatar Football Association (QFA). For visitors to the Final, Qtel will set up the first indoor Fan Zone in Qatar in the area next to the Khalifa Stadium, the venue for the Emir’s Cup. Doors will open at 12 noon of Friday, 20 May, and the Fan Zone will run until 21 May 2011.
Shaped like a giant football, Qtel’s Fan Zone will host a Sports Museum section called “Al Mathaf”, where football fans can take their picture beside the Emir’s Cup. There will also be a short history of the Cup, and a photo exhibition of famous Qatari football games and teams. Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director, Group Communications at Qtel, says: “We are proud to be the main sponsor of the Emir’s Cup this year, and our Fan Zone will offer a wide range of entertainments for visitors.”
The Fan Zone will also include a wide range of entertaining sports games, including a Virtual Kicking game, Virtual Goal Keeper, and a series of sporting PlayStation challenges. There will be special sports quizzes, where visitors can win a range of exciting prizes from Qtel. As a special treat for children, Qtel has built a fun-filled tent, which will include drawing, face-painting and educational competitions. The Kid’s Area will be a safe place where parents can leave their children during the match without worrying.
