Ramadan Road Safety campaign draws to a close

Supported by Qatargas, the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) traffic department Ramadan Road Safety campaign comes to a close, for this year, with the distribution of infant car seats to parents of new-born babies, the distribution of gifts to children at Hamad Hospital, Doha, and the airing of the Qatargas Road Safety TV commercial ‘Speed Kills’ which is being played in cinemas at the City Centre and Villagio Mall in Doha and a MOI web blog competition.

Screening of the QG Road Safety TV commercial started on the first day of Eid and will continue till the end of September.

Studies have shown that use of seat-belts will save lives in case of serious road accidents and infant safety seats are the solution to buckle up the new-borns. Over the recent years, reports suggest that injuries and deaths have considerably dropped in countries where people use seat belts and infant seats.

Qatargas is happy to have supported the Ministry of Interior in running this campaign in an effort to make the roads safer for nationals and residents in the State of Qatar and believes that working with MoI has had a positive impact on the road safety awareness and is keen to continue this partnership in future.

Road safety is an important part of Qatargas’ corporate citizenship initiatives. This year, Qatargas has undertaken various initiatives to increase level of awareness among motorists on their safety as well as the safety of their family members whilst driving on our roads. Qatargas will continue its endeavours aimed at improving the lives of people in this country.
