All heart patients at Hamad General Hospital (HGH) will soon be transferred to the new Heart Hospital, which was opened earlier this year. The transfer will be conducted starting Friday, September 30, and will be done in coordination with the Ambulance Service. This was announced by Mr Mahmoud Saleh Al Raisi (pictured), Executive Director of Heart Hospital.
A total of 70 heart patients will be transferred to the new facility, comprising heart intensive care patients, heart surgery patients and heart inpatients. The inpatients will be transferred on Friday, while intensive care patients will be transferred on Saturday. Patients scheduled for surgery may proceed directly to the new hospital.
Meanwhile, all emergency heart cases will continue to be served at HGH Emergency Department as Heart Hospitals emergency unit is not yet open, according to Mr Al Raisi. The new specialized Heart Hospital has 114 rooms and is intended to provide all necessary medical services for heart patients, such as catheterization, surgery and electronic display of X- ray images and reports.
