Mowasalat launches 250 new buses serving Pan-Arab Games

As part of ongoing quest to contribute to the growth of the future of the State of Qatar, Mowasalat Company speeds up the preparations for providing the Pan-Arab Games, to be hosted by Doha from 9 to 23 December 2011, with mass transit solutions and transportation services for the high-profile figures and VIPs.

Such solutions and services include buses with various sizes and luxury cars to transport the teams and officials in a proper manner up to the State of Qatar s leadership and remarkable organizing reputation and to the diamond sponsorship Mowasalat provides to the event.

In line with such preparations, Mowasalat-Karwa launches a new batch of its latest and most sophisticated buses known for their high standards and unique technologies. This initiative is part of Mowasalat’s remarkable role in enhancing and selecting the provided service to demonstrate the extent of the attention paid by the State of Qatar to the means of transport and the remarkable role they play in the economic field at present.

HE Jassim Saif Al-Sulaiti, Mowasalat Chairman  and Managing Director, announced Mowasalat s launching of 250 new 2012 Karwa buses to its fleet. These state-of-the-art buses have been designed to suit the special requirements of the Pan-Arab Games. They are fitted with UK Cummins engines and German high quality ZF gears. In addition, Mowasalat provides new special buses for the people with special needs as well as the full maintenance services for such buses.

Karwa new buses utilize and feature the 3 G Bus Operation System (G-BOS System) which adopts the technologies of the Digital Geographic Information System (GIS), the Global Position System (GPS) and the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS).

“Mowasalat intends, as part of its future plan, to expand its fleet to include 7,000 taxis, 1,000 public transport buses and around 12 stations to provide more numbers of vehicles in the streets of Doha”, added Mowasalat Chairman  and Managing Director while speaking about the Company s plan for the World Cup 2022.

Mowasalat provided 150 buses for the stadiums of Asian Cup 2011 held earlier in Doha, 200 – 500 buses per day for the players and the spectators and nearly 300 taxis and limousines to help facilitate mobility in locations near the venues of the sports events.

Karwa focuses on launching its environment-friendly vehicles which uses clean energy. Its latest buses have several mechanical technologies, including anti-skid braking systems, black boxes similar to the ones used in planes and modern means of transport to monitor and record all details related to the movement of the buses. Such black boxes are used to retrieve accurate information in case of any problems or issues.

Mowasalat is committed to environmental standards in accordance with its plans to maintain the attitude of the State as a capital of clean energy in the world.

Meanhile Mowasalat Executive Director Ahmed Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri, said: “In order to achieve our main goals, we are still making intensive efforts and facing many difficulties in implementing our policies which are based on promoting the fight against environmental pollution. Our projects for the development of clean energy represent an ambitious attitude to stress the significance of using clean energy as an integral part of our essential commitments which we seek to have them translated into daily successful operations as part of the Company s numerous major strategic.”
