The General Directorate of Civil Defense signed two contracts worth QR98m in the first day of 3rd Civil Defense Exhibition and Conference in Doha. The first one was signed with Fahad Trading Company while the second one was with Al Hamad Trading Company.
On behalf of the General Directorate of Civil Defense, the Director of Fire Prevention Department Brig. Aman Saad Al Sulaiti signed the contract while deputy GM of Fahad trading company Mr. Muhammad Al Tayeb signed the contract on behalf of the company for importing 54 fire extinguishing and rescue vehicles of different sizes that worth QR84m.
Brig. Aman Al Sulaiti also signed the second contract with Al Hamad trading company on behalf of the Civil Defense authority for delivering High Trans water hoses that worth QR14m. General Manager of Al Hamad trading signed the contract from the other side.
Speaking to the media representatives after signing the contracts, Brig. Al Sulaiti clarified that the contracts is done in the framework of comprehensive development plan for the Civil Defense of Qatar which includes supporting and enhancing the fleets and equipments of the civil defense so as to serve the total urban upswing witnessed by the country and also in order to contribute to the improvement of the performance standard of the General Directorate of Civil Defense.

The first contract is signed with Fahad trading company for the delivery of a group of advanced vehicles including a heavy search and rescue vehicle, 9 medium fire extinguishing and rescue vehicles, 5 heavy fire extinguishing and rescue vehicles, 2 flights fire extinguishing vehicles, 36 numbers of 15000 liter capacity water tanks and a fuel transporting tank, said the Assistant director of Logistics Department of the General Directorate of Civil Defense Capt. Ahmed Al Abdullah.
As per the contract, the delivering company is responsible for the service of all vehicles and equipments for 3 years and training of civil defense personnel on the use of the delivered items in addition to training the concerned civil defense staffers on the periodical maintenance for the vehicle, he added.
Captain Al Abdullah also added that the second contract is signed with Al Hamad company for the delivery of hoses for pumping the water for the amount worth QR14m. The hoses can pump the water from the sea to 3 km distance as it has been fitted with a water propeller used for extinguishing fires in high rise buildings.
