Jaidah Automotive, a subsidiary of the long-established and influential conglomerate Jaidah Group, has announced the resounding success of its recent ‘Chevrolet Knights’ customer appreciation event, which took place last week.
Jaidah Automotive, one of the two exclusive importers of General Motors (GM) vehicles into Qatar, has organised a recent desert convoy from Doha, through Um Sa’id, to the Sealine Beach Resort. Before reaching the final destination, Qatar Ventures, there was a final stop to lower tyre pressures to optimum desert pressures.
Over 60 vehicles made the trip (the convoy was made up of dozens of three of the many Chevrolet models that are suited to the desert environment: the Silverado, the Tahoe and the Avalanche) where these Jaidah customers, the ‘Chevrolet Knights’, were treated to a day of family fun.
The 10am departure from Jaidah Group’s main showroom led to a midday arrival at the venue and was followed by a barbeque lunch and a series of raffle draws. Activities taking place were camel riding and volleyball. A big draw at the ‘Chevrolet Knights’ event was the ‘4×4 Technical Room’ where Jaidah service team and Chevrolet experts were on hand to show instructional videos and give tips to customers on how to get the best out of their 4×4 Chevrolet vehicles. The same technical staff took reservations for customers to take their vehicles off-road on their own, or arranged to do so accompanied by professional drivers.
The raffle draws featured 24 lucky winners with prizes generously provided by the event’s co-sponsors Qtel, Garmin and Virgin Megastore. There were six draws, with four prizes available in each. Four Chevrolet customers won broadband packages from Qtel, four more customers walked off with brand-new GARMIN satellite-navigation devices and four lucky winners grabbed vouchers for Virgin Megastore to the value of QR500.
Jaidah Automotive provided the prizes for a further 12 winners, handing out four vouchers for each of: discount vouchers for Chevrolet Silverado’s accessories, car servicing, and equipment from ACDelco.
Long-standing Chevrolet customer Sultan Hussein Al Jassimi attended the event and he said, “The ‘Chevrolet Knights’ occasion was a great opportunity for 4×4 drivers to experience off-road driving as it’s meant to be and to discover the car’s capability. Many people who own 4x4s don’t have any idea about their car’s abilities so this was a learning experience! The day was superb family fun with good driving, good food and good prizes in a great setting. We had an excellent time and would like to extend our thanks to Jaidah Automotive and Chevrolet for the invitation.”
Jaidah Automotive’s Marketing and Product Development Manager, Mr Sami Skaff, commented, “Jaidah Automotive has a constant and keen focus on meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations and we thought this ‘Chevrolet Knights’ desert convoy would provide an interesting and unique experience for a significant number of our Chevrolet customers. The event was a great success with superb, temperate weather, a tasty barbecue and other family-friendly events such as the camel riding and volleyball. The main draw, of course, was to test the durability and versatility of Chevrolet’s 4×4 vehicles in a desert environment. A test, of course, that these fine vehicles passed with flying colours!”
“Jaidah Automotive’s customer base is loyal and deserves to be rewarded. This ’Chevrolet Knights’ event was just one of many ways in which we try to give back to those customers that make Jaidah Automotive success it is. We are constantly looking for new ways to engage with our customers,” Skaff added.
