3rd Inter-Hotels Mini Beach Olympics 2012

InterContinental Doha proudly hosts the 3rd Inter-Hotels Mini Beach Olympics 2012 which kicked off with an opening ceremony on Monday.

Organised two years ago, the friendly competition is aimed at promoting camaraderie through sportsmanship amongst hotels in Doha.

The five day sports event starting on April 10 until April 14 will feature nine hotels from across Qatar taking part in swimming, beach soccer, beach volleyball and the 2km run. The events will be held at InterContinental Doha beach area.

Last year’s host Four Seasons through its Regional VP and General Manager Simon Casson handed over the torch to InterContinental Doha’s Director of Human Resources Gerardo Urbina on Saturday. The ceremonial torch relay signaled InterContinental Doha’s turn to be the venue of the Olympics.

The participating hotels this year include Diplomatic Club, Four Seasons, La Cigale, Oryx Rotana, Renaissance, Ritz Carlton, St. Regis, W Hotel and InterContinental Doha.

The awarding ceremony of the fun event will be held on April 14.
