Qtel customers get better value for data roaming

Qtel customers get better value for data roaming

Responding to customer requests, Qtel announced a major reduction in the price of data roaming throughout the GCC for both Hala and Shahry customers.

From today, customers will be able to use data throughout the region for just QR3 per MB – a massive reduction on the standard price of QR15 per MB. The reduced price rate is available for all customers until 14 May 2012.  The service is available on all networks in GCC countries.

The incredible saving is made possible by Qtel’s network of regional partners, who – through the SmartRoamer service – have helped make Qtel’s roaming charges some of the most cost effective in the region.

Now, thanks to Qtel’s superior network, customers can enjoy some of the best value data roaming rates in the GCC. The great price means that customers can surf without worrying about a large “bill shock” at the end of their holiday breaks and business travel.

While travelling in the GCC, customers can relax, stay in contact with friends and family, and enjoy browsing Facebook, downloading photos and large documents, and accessing their BlackBerry services, just as they would at home. This significant reduction in the roaming data rate is designed to fuel Qtel customers with a sense of security and the ability to continue enjoyable activities such as online entertainment and the use of social media even while on the road.

This is one of several changes Qtel has made to provide Shahry and Hala customers with even more value and better service. The company continues to strengthen its Mobile Internet and Mobile Broadband offering, and is the first company in the country to be developing 4G services, so that customers can take advantage of the fastest-ever Internet.
