QWSC Inaugural Women basketball League kicks off

Qatar’s Women Sport Committee QWSC) announced the organization of its inaugural Women Basketball League which kicked off Saturday and will last until 2 June amid participation of 10 teams.

At a pre-league news conference held earlier on Saturday, senior QWSC officials including, Lulua Al-Marri, the QWSC Secretary General, Saleha Al-Nuaimi, the Director of Qatar women basketball team, Sheikha Al-Qahatani, the QWSC Financial Manager beside officials from Q-Sport Company unveiled the details of the event.

According to the organizers, some prize money is allocated for the top three winners, where the first place winners will get QR 10.000, as runner-up will receive QR 6.000 and QR 4.000 will go to the third place winners beside other personal awards for the best senior and Junior players in the league.

Mrs. Lulua Al-Marri, the QWSC Secretary General confirmed that the league will develop the game in Qatar.
