Sana Roundabout to be converted to signalized intersection

Sana Roundabout to be converted to signalized intersection

Within its plan to reduce traffic congestions in the city, the Roads Projects Department at Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has decided to convert the Sana Roundabout to signalized interchange.

The works will be implemented within a period of four months beginning from Saturday, 28/04/2012 with necessary diversions in effect. In order to maintain traffic flow along the roundabout, works will be implemented in various phases such that two lanes will be open for traffic on both directions with expanded side access and necessary traffic directive signage.

The proposed interchange will have two lanes each on longitudinal and crosswise directions along Ras Abu Abboud Street, and two longitudinal lanes and one crosswise lane along B Ring Road, as in the illustrative map. While apologizing the inconveniences to commuters due to this work, Ashghal appeals them to abide by the traffic signals and speed limit.
