Vodafone holds staff safety day

Vodafone holds staff safety day

In recognition of International Safety Day held on the 28th of April each year, Vodafone held a safety day for their staff. With the assistance of Qatar International Safety Centre, 4 interactive information stands were set-up that taught staff ways to keep safe on the road and both at home and in the workplace.

The road safety stand ran a 30 min defensive driving presentation which equipped employees with the basic defensive driving principles. The stand also focused on the road rules in Qatar and all attendees had to complete a quiz dedicated to the road traffic signs in Qatar.

Vodafone driver behaviour and use of mobile phone rules “The Absolute Rules” were addressed such as never using a hand held phone whilst driving.

The introductory session to CPR gave all staff the opportunity to practice basic CPR techniques on an Annie doll. This was a very interactive session and enjoyed by all. The last stand focused on basic fire prevention at home and the office.

“We take health and safety very seriously at Vodafone,” said Dwayne Duncum, Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager at Vodafone Qatar. “The safety day was a huge success that taught staff invaluable lessons in staying safe. We would like to thank Qatar International Safety Centre for hosting the day for us and making it very enjoyable for our staff.”
