St. Regis Doha celebrates first month of success at Arabian Travel Market 2012

The St. Regis Doha, Qatar’s newest luxury destination, will celebrate its first month of success at this year’s Arabian Travel Market, which runs from 30 April until 3 May.

Since opening its doors to its first guest on 31 March 2012, the hotel has played host to leading diplomats and government officials, sporting luminaries, business executives and fans of luxury living from around the world. Local interest has been stimulated by the upcoming premier of two new restaurants associated with Gordon Ramsay, along with the planned summer opening of the first-ever Jazz at Lincoln Centre venue outside of America.

As one of the first St. Regis Hotels to open in the Middle East, it has already been billed as “the finest address in Doha,” with a host of luxurious features.

“We introduced the St. Regis Doha to the global travel industry at Arabian Travel Market in 2011, and now – one year later – the dream has become a reality and we are seeing huge interest from around the world” said Tareq Derbas, General Manager for the St. Regis Doha Hotel. “People are already enjoying the unique St. Regis touch in Qatar, and we believe we are seeing the start of a new chapter in the luxury hospitality sector in Qatar.”

Figures from the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) suggest that Qatar recorded one of its strongest years ever in 2011 in terms of visitor numbers, with a jump of 50 percent in the number of visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, and international visitor figures rising by 12 percent. For 2012, the luxury sector is set to play a major role in the ongoing growth and development of the tourism industry.

With St. Regis Doha sitting at the top-end of the market, the hotel is already welcoming a high number of dignitaries and senior figures, drawn by the unique environment and incredible service levels. Unique to Qatar, the hotel’s signature 24-hour Butler Service – which provides a dedicated Butler for every guest – is already proving to be extremely popular.

The St. Regis Doha features 336 rooms including 70 suites – all affording views of the Arabian Gulf.  The hotel features 10 restaurants and lounges, 4,000-square-meters of meeting space and extensive recreational facilities including Remède Spa, an Olympic swimming pool and beachfront cabanas with private Jacuzzis. All guest rooms and suites feature custom-made furnishings, silk wall coverings and beautiful antiques.
