Inspired by the recent IPL T20 tournament held in Bangalore in India, across all the nations, Evolution Soccer and Nexus Financial advisors held a similar event with international schools in Doha.
More than 60 budding cricketers took part in the first ever Evolution Sport Cricket. Festival sponsored lately by Nexus Financial Services. Teams from Doha College, Doha English Speaking School, MIS, International School of London, Compass, Sherbourne and American School of Doha took part in the pioneering tournament.
Mr Gary Lunn, General Manager of wealth management advisory service Nexus, was delighted to support the cricket fraternity in this was way, as Nexus is considered a trusted advisor to the whole community in financial advisory services.
“Cricket is a greatly loved international sport and for us to be here today seeing so many youngsters fun, competing and participating was a wonderful experience,” said Mr Lunn.
“I really want to see cricket expand here in Qatar, by giving the club this equipment I hope we are able to help develop cricket not only for the kids here today but for many more in the years to come. I must commend the organizers of this event. It is a pleasure to see how everyone has got involved in making it a success. I believe that Qatar’s youngsters stand to benefit greatly by the 10-week coaching course offered by Evolution Sport. The coaching staff at Evolution is very professional in their approach. So this is a great opportunity that will allow youth to learn the basics and refine their skills,” said Mr Lunn.
As part of their ongoing sponsorship of the Evolution Cricket Club Nexus, is in the process of purchasing cricket nets and bowling machines for the club.

The festival focused on participation with six teams out of eight taking part in competitions while a further 4 groups benefitted from coaching in the main halls. All participants at the tournament received a complimentary t-shirt from Nexus Financial Services.
