QOC Futsal Championship to kick off on Sunday

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) will organise the 2012 Futsal Championship from 13 to 26 May 2012 at the indoor hall of the Qatar Football Association in Al-Wakrah Sports Club.

The championship will feature the participation of 17 teams including Al-Jaish, Information, Qatari Diar, ABK, Doha Modern, Living, Hamad Medical Corporation, Al-Israa Campaign, Qatar Petroleum, Al-Shamal Health Centre, Al-Wakrah Contracting Company, Aspire Academy, Qatar Stars League, Kafoud Company, Al-Rayyan Bank, Ministry of Municipality and Qatar University.

Three matches will be held on Sunday, where ABK will take on Qatari Diar while Al-Rayyan Bank will clash against Ministry of Municipality and Doha Modern Company will face Qatar Petroleum. As per regulations, each team shall consist of 5 players including one goalkeeper where duration of matches will be 24 minutes to be divided into two equal periods of 12 minutes with an interval of 2 minutes.

It is worth mentioning that ABK Company occupied the first place in 2011 edition. Doha Modern Company occupied the second place while Al-Shamal Health Centre settled in the third place.
