Food Revolution Day at Grand Heritage Doha

Food Revolution Day at Grand Heritage Doha

On May 19, Grand Heritage Doha Hotel and Spa, an American chain of hotels that penetrated the Qatar market in 2011, hosted a luncheon at its restaurant, Flavours, to celebrate Food Revolution Day. It is the only hotel in Qatar celebrating this event, placing Qatar on the Food Revolution Day map among 57 other countries.

The hotel’s Executive Chef, Chef Duncan Morrison, served a spread of fresh food prepared from all-natural ingredients that was just as healthful and nutritious as it was delectable. With 136 spacious and comfortable rooms, Grand Heritage Doha adds a touch of historic charm to the more contemporary Aspire Zone with its Victorian façade. The hotel’s Blue restaurant recently won the Diyafa Award in Doha for its signature sushi.

Food Revolution Day was started by the famous food enthusiast and cook, Jamie Oliver, who has a number of television cookery shows to his credit. On Food Revolution Day, we celebrate REAL food that is free of artificial additives and that is naturally grown and used in cooking healthy food.

It is imperative that we stop to think about the food we consume and how it is affecting our health. Empowering people with the right information about healthy food choices and how it can help them lead a better quality of life can go a long way in improving the quality of life of a community and ultimately, that of a nation. Food Revolution Day is the day that we connect as a community to share information, talents and resources to highlight the world’s food issues through events at schools, restaurants, local businesses, dinner parties, farmers’ markets, and the like.
