RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) recently donated approximately 60,000 QAR to the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) in support of its community initiatives.
The donation was collected during the Employee Welfare and Development (EDW) and Management Services (MGS) Groups’ family day held last month. The Groups’ Family Day brought together 650 RasGas employees and family members in an activity-filled day.
RasGas is dedicating 2012 to be the Year of Health for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme activities. Owing to a long-term relationship based on mutual understanding, the proceeds of the Groups’ Family Day were donated to support RAF’s healthcare initiatives.
“Family day is a long-standing tradition for both groups in RasGas and we are very excited to see a corporate event be of benefit to the larger community. RAF is a well-established local charity and we are confident the generous donation collected by our extended RasGas family will be put to good use,” said Erhama Al Kaabi, Employee Development and welfare Manager at RasGas.
RasGas regards social responsibility as integral to its business and is committed to supporting Qatar’s national development. Through its CSR, RasGas provides financial and practical support under a structured four cornerstone approach: community, education, environment and health. The RasGas CSR programme is aligned to the national economic and social development plan of the country, Qatar National Vision 2030.
