Qatar Cool partners with Sherborne School for ‘The Queens Diamond Jubilee Fun Day’. Pupils, friends and families of Sherborne came together to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 year reign. Qatar Cool was one of the Gold Sponsors for the day, with festivities and activities for all ages.
As part of their CSR strategy, Qatar Cool selects schools to work with across various mediums to increase awareness on energy and water saving practices.
Fayad Al Khatib, CEO of Qatar Cool, Qatar’s leading district cooling company said, “What a wonderful opportunity this is for us to engage with the youth and community. Sherborne is a school of excellence and the type of institution we believe in aligning ourselves with as part of our on-going CSR initiatives. We look forward to partnering with them again in the future.”
All proceeds from the day were distributed equally between Dhreima, the Qatar Orphan Foundation, which is also the Queens Diamond Jubilee Charity, and a school led initiative which will directly benefit all the children of Sherborne School. This is the first event of its kind for the school, which is in its 3rd year of operation in Doha.
Prior to the Fun Day, Qatar Cool hosted Sherborne students for a tour of their Integrated District Cooling Plant, which is the largest plant in the world, situated on The Pearl-Qatar. A team representing Qatar Cool’s different disciplines discussed district cooling technology and its impact on the environment with the students. After their tour of the state of the art plant, students were given a quiz to test their new found knowledge.
Richard Williams, Director of Communications at Sherborne added, “‘Our Diamond Jubilee Family Fun Day here at Sherborne Qatar was a huge success and it was great to see so many people of all ages having fun. We would like to thank Qatar Cool for their sponsorship of the Activity Zone which was busy throughout the event. Our pupils have also enjoyed their recent visits to Qatar Cool and we look forward to an ongoing partnership in the future.”
