Ministry of Labor of Qatar improves IT support efficiency with Bomgar remote support

Bomgar, a leading provider of secure remote support solutions, announced today that the Ministry of Labor (MOL) of Qatar is now able to provide real-time tech support to its employees in remote locations using Bomgar.

The MOL is committed to providing high-quality services and advancing workplace practices to a standard that is in line with the visions and aspirations set by the State of Qatar. In order to address workers’ needs around the country, the organization has ten remote offices, which are all supported by one centralized IT service desk.

In partnership with the Gulf Business Center w.l.l Qatar and Whitehats Computer Maintenance, the MOL sought a remote support tool that could handle their requirements for supporting employees both near and far. Not only did technicians need to support end-users in remote locations, they were also faced with remotely accessing and fixing a multitude of devices, ranging from desktops and laptops to printers and scanners.

“With its user-friendly application and the ability to securely access remote devices both inside and outside of our network, Bomgar was the clear choice to fit our support needs,” said Fouad Tawfiq Ahmed, technical support supervisor of the Ministry of Labor of Qatar. “Because our service desk is the single point of contact for all departments in the Ministry, we needed a reliable tool that could help us quickly respond to and resolve technical issues in order to sustain the production levels of our local and remote workers.”

Security was also a top concern for the ministry. “Security is an utmost priority for the Ministry of Labor. They needed a solution that would allow them to support remote workers reliably and efficiently, while keeping their data and systems secure,” said Rizwan Sabir, General manager of Whitehats Computer Maintenance.

Rita Melhem, CFO of the Gulf Business Center w.l.l, Whitehats’ partner in Qatar, echoed Sabir’s comments regarding the importance of security in a remote support solution. “We knew that the security features of the Bomgar solution would be an ideal fit for the MOL’s needs.”

“Bomgar’s on-premise appliance sits behind our firewall and security measures, so we have increased control over who does and doesn’t have permission to access our data,” added Fouad Tawfiq Ahmed.

“Public sector organizations capture and house a lot of personal, sensitive data, and their IT departments are responsible for keeping it all safe and sound,” said Nathan McNeill, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Bomgar. “Remote access tools are regularly named as one of the top access pathways for hackers, so it’s imperative that government IT leaders choose secure remote support solutions that don’t provide open pathways for hackers or increase their circle of liability.”

Looking ahead, support team members of the MOL expect Bomgar to reduce the time and cost of resolving IT incidents. “Not only will we save time in resolving IT problems, the skills of our current staff members will be utilized in a more efficient manner that will not require us to hire additional team members,” added Ahmed.
