Carsten Fritz appointed General Manager of Sharq Village and Spa

Carsten Fritz comes to Doha as the newly appointed General Manager of Sharq Village and Spa. In his new role, Mr. Fritz is responsible for all aspects of the resort’s operations, including financial performance, guest engagement, employee development and brand recognition.

A German national and hotel veteran, Carsten Fritz has worked with The Ritz-Carlton during the past ten years in various functions and countries. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Fritz held the position of General Manager at the award-winning Ritz-Carlton Abama, a 471 rooms and suites hotel with extensive facilities including a full-service spa. There, he led a team of more than 450 Ladies and Gentlemen and implemented total quality management, which improved market share for the property and elevated guest satisfaction ratings. The hotel is frequently recognized, both regionally and internationally.

Previously, he was General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Sharm El Sheikh since 2009,The Ritz-Carlton Country Club, Seoul and Hotel Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore.

Mr. Fritz has also had various managerial positions at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka in Japan and The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica. Carsten Fritz began his professional career with Kempinski in 1990 at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich and has also worked at The Kempinski Mansion in Bangkok, Hotel Gravenbruch in Frankfurt and Hotel Atlantic in Hamburg before beginning his career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. in 2001.

Honoring the true sense of a traditional Qatari home, Sharq Village and Spa houses 174 guest rooms and suites, which are dispersed into 14low-rise Arabic courtyard homes.

The waterfront property is unique in the Middle East for its authentic recreation of life in an ancient desert village. The four spa villages that make up the 6.500 square meters Six Senses Spa takes its inspiration from a traditional Qatari souq offering a holistic destination spa experience.
