Oxy donates QR500,000 to Red Crescent

Occidental Petroleum of Qatar Ltd. (Oxy Qatar) has announced a contribution to the Qatar Red Crescent to support its humanitarian activities for needy families in Qatar.

Oxy Qatar’s president and general manager Timothy Borgerding and Deputy General Manager Ahmed al-Ahmed presented a cheque for QR500,000 to Saleh bin Ali al-Muhannadi, executive manager of the Red Crescent.

“We wish to thank Occidental Petroleum for supporting the Red Crescent’s social development projects in the country. Through this support we will be preserving the dignity and humanity of needy families in our community. We reiterate our thanks and appreciation for the contribution of Occidental Petroleum and hopefully it will continue a relationship of partnership and cooperation for the benefit of Qatar and its citizens,” said Saleh al-Muhannadi.

Borgerding said: “At Oxy, we are proud to support the Red Crescent and its worthwhile endeavours. We hope this partnership will assist in easing the burdens that low-income families encounter and encourage the Red Crescent to continue its hard work.”

Al-Ahmed said: “We are privileged to be working closely with the Red Crescent. We are confident that this programme will go a long way in significantly contributing towards the humanitarian role provided by the Red Crescent for the benefit of needy families.”
