The Qatar National Cancer Society today announced its new brand identity to be “Qatar Cancer Society.” The society also announced its vision and strategy to support the fight against cancer worldwide. The new strategy was uncovered today alongside the new brand identity during a press conference in the Qatari capital, Doha.
QCS will collaborate with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a leading pharmaceutical company, to work on initiatives aimed at reducing the risk of cancer worldwide. This collaboration symbolizes the organization’s new global outlook and international outreach.
Speaking at the unveiling, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Khalid Bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Cancer Society, said: “Today marks a milestone for the State of Qatar, as the Qatar Cancer Society cooperates with international organizations and corporations to fight cancer at a global level.”
QCS, in association with GSK, is launching an awareness campaign, about cervical cancer targeting all females aged 10 and above. The new campaign aims at educating school children and the general public at large around measures to be undertaken to prevent this form of cancer. Globally, cervical cancer is the third most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer deaths in women.
Symbolizing harmony, strength, freedom and magnificence, the new QCS logo takes the shape of a butterfly, a figure that represents life in its most beautiful form. QCS debuts a new strategy to accurately represent what it has become; an organization focusing on dedicated initiatives to battle cancer at local, regional and global levels.
The Society stated that the paradigm of the new strategy includes devoted scientific research to explore the innovative advancements in the cancer arena, increasing the public awareness on causes, prevention, early detection, treatment and survival methods associated with the disease.
Internationally renowned institutions MD Andersen Cancer Center and George Washington University have also shown support to the new vision and strategy adopted by QCS. The Minnesota Cancer Society was also present at the press conference and announced their cooperation with the Qatar Cancer Society on research, awareness and educational programs.
The Arab Business Women Investors Union is also showing great support towards QCS, by participating in a number of events throughout the year to promote awareness around cancer.

The Society is also extremely proud to uphold its present collaborations with esteemed Qatari companies, for their unconditional support in battling cancer. QCS is looking forward to further collaborate with other educational and financial institutions in Qatar.
QCS will continue its fight against cancer and will execute diverse activities throughout the year to educate people and promote awareness around cancer and healthy living.
