More than 20,000 votes received in ‘Draw your dream New Zealand farm’ competition

More than 20,000 votes have been received for the ‘Draw your dream New Zealand farm’ competition and with the closing date for entries just days away, there is still time for children in Qatar to get creative.

Hundreds of children have drawn, painted or crayoned their idea of a dream New Zealand farm for a chance to win an all-expenses-paid family holiday to New Zealand, the home of Anchor as part of a month-long competition, highlighting the importance of dairy nutrition. Anchor – a leading dairy brand produced by Fonterra, the world’s largest dairy processor – is raising awareness about the importance of milk in the diet of growing children.

Kamal Gupta, Managing Director, Fonterra Brands Middle East, Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States, says, “In this era of the supermarket shelves, we hope this project helps reinforce to children where the milk they pour on their cereal comes from and inspires them to think about what is involved in getting milk into a carton. Creative projects are engaging and a great way for children to learn, and this task gives them the opportunity to work on an individual project that really gets them thinking about a foreign country and an industry they don’t see on a daily basis.”

Mr Gupta concludes, “We are delighted that so many children in Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE are taking part in the competition and we hope they have learnt more about the goodness of dairy. Milk and other dairy products have a key role to play in maintaining a healthy and balanced diet and we want to help educate children about the importance of good nutrition at an early age through this competition.”

Until 20 June, children aged between six and ten across Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE can participate in the contest by uploading their drawings onto the competition portal www.AnchorNZchallenge.com and following this, they will receive a link to share with friends and family and encourage them to vote for their drawings. The five children who receive the most votes will be shortlisted, and the winner with the most vivid imagination and drawing skills will be chosen by a panel of independent judges.

Entries need to include green pastures, cows and milk and are to be scanned and uploaded onto www.AnchorNZchallenge.com before 20 June. More information can be found on the same website.
