The Qatari U23 football team suffered a 0-2 defeat against Malaysia in a friendly match held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday.

The Qatari team will participate in the qualifications for the 2013 AFC U-22 Championship to begin on 22 June 2012 in Malaysia. Qatar will compete in Group A alongside Kuwait, Iran, Bahrain, Maldives and Tajikistan.
