Qatar down Bahrain in Junior International Handball Championship

The Qatari handball team defeated Bahrain 32-28 in the beginning of their campaign at Junior International Handball Championship on Monday. Moreover, France registered a 35-32 victory over South Korea.

The prestigious event brings together four nations, including Bahrain, France, South Korea and hosts Qatar. On the other hand, the draw of the 2012 IHF Super Globe will be held on Saturday. Same as in 2011, the IHF Super Globe will be played in Al Gharaffa hall in Doha.

The event will feature the participation of eight teams including THW Kiel (defending champion), Al-Sadd club Doha (organizer), Al-Jaish club Doha (Qatar wild card), Metodista Sao Bernardo (Brazil, Pan-America), University of Sydney (Australia, Oceania), Mudhar (Saudi Arabia, Asia) and  Al-Zamallek (Egypt, Africa).

The European participant will be decided at the EHF Champions League FINAL4, played in Cologne, Germany on 26/27 May. If defending champion THW Kiel wins the Champions League, the finalist will qualify for the IHF Super Globe.
