Katara With Love features Qatari talents

Katara, the Cultural Village proudly presents, Katara with Love, a three day fund raising event which promotes Qatari arts and crafts from Thursday June 28th until Saturday June 30th.

The event will feature a bazaar, and an art exhibition which will be open from 5pm to 10 pm. There will also be a Qatari poetry night which will take place on Friday 29th June, 8.00pm, Opera House, Building 16. With fifty percent of the funds raised going to Sanad Community Services, the three-day event will display the work of various Qatari nationals showcasing their creativity, skill sets, paintings and designs.

Dr. Emad Sultan, Cultural Affairs Director said, “Katara is committed to providing a platform for emerging talents, including artists, musicians, designers and poets. We would like to thank all of those who have worked effortlessly to contribute their time, products and hard work to bring this event together and hope that communities from across Qatar will come together at this special occasion to support our efforts and help us raise funds.”

The Art Exhibition will feature Art work from 17 different Qatari Artists: Jameela Al Ansari, Masoud Al Bolushi, Mariam Al Abdullah, Moza Al Kuwari, Lolwa Al Meghaiseeb, Mubarak Al Malik, Jameela Al Shraim, Faisal Al Abdullah, Talal Al Qasmi, Haya Al Naemi, Thamer Saad, Johara Al Mannai, Hayfa Al Sada, Noof Al Malki, Reem Al Malki, Ameera Al Aji and Mohammed Al Mansoori.

The bazaar which will take place in Building 19 and 22 will feature several local fashion designers including Wa’ad Mohamed, Fatma Al Sayed, Noor Hadi, Fat’hiya Al Jaber, Al Jazi Al Shraim, Ahoud Al Hilali, Elham, Mashal Shahbik, Eman Al Mejaly, Hessa Hamdan, Hind Al Suwaidi, Aisha Al Naimi, Kholoud Abdullah, Wath’ha and Asma Al Mannai who will be showcasing their latest collection of clothing.

A variety of food including cakes, traditional tastes, cookies and cupcakes by various young Qatari’s including: Laila Al Shraim, Mohamed Al Sharshani, Fatma Al Suwaidi, Rwdah Al Subaiy, Al Anood, Fatma and Bouthina Al Sulaiti. Traditional and unique handicrafts and couchette by Reem Al Sowaidi, Salwa Al Kuwari and Naema Al Hamadi will be available. Pottery, Photography and Fine Arts by Talal Al Qasmi, Abdulrahman Al Mutawah, Maha Tayseer and Hassan Bujassom will be on sale.

Societies participating in the event include the Childhood centre who will be selling souvenirs made by young children, the Qatar Stamp Museum who will provide customized stamps and Little Angels who will be selling ribbons in memory of the Villaggio fire victims.

The Poetry Night features five famous Qatari poets who will recite some of their key works; poets include Hamad Al Baridi, Buti Al Hbabi, Mohammed Al Shahwani, Ayed Bin Ghaidah, Rashid al Nabet. The event will be hosted by Ata Bin Mohammed, tickets are available at Building 15 from 9 am to 9 pm.
