Qtel names new Chief Wholesale and International Officer

Qtel today announced that Yousuf Al Kubaisi has been named as the new Chief Wholesale and International Officer (CWIO) for Qtel Qatar.

In his new role, Al Kubaisi will take on responsibility for supporting the growth of Qtel’s global network of partnerships with other operators and international communications companies.

Since joining Qtel in June 1987, Al Kubaisi has taken on a number of key roles within the company. Currently Senior Director, Regulatory Management, he has worked in various managerial roles in Qtel including Manager, International Infrastructure; Asst. General Manager – Business Services; Divisional Manager, Regulatory; and Acting Executive Director, Group Strategy & General Services.

Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Al Thani, CEO, Qtel Qatar, said: “We continue to strengthen and develop the management team for Qtel Qatar, as we look to deliver an enhanced customer experience and expand into new business areas. Yousuf Al Kubaisi has been a stalwart member of the Qtel Family for more than 25 years, and he brings immense authority and knowledge to this position.”

Al Kubaisi takes on the role following the promotion of the former CWIO Ahmed Al-Derbesti to Group Chief Operating Officer of Qtel Group, which is responsible for Qtel’s regional operations. A noted expert in the field of network development, Qatari national Yousuf Al Kubaisi holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Western Michigan University.
