Mawashi, Qatar’s cutting-edge livestock company, has been recently recognized at the 16th International Star for Leadership in Quality Convention at Paris, France – a flagship ceremony under the Business Initiative Directions (B.I.D) Awards.
The annual Awards are world-class programmes for outstanding standards of quality and service with this year’s edition bringing together over 70 business gurus, corporate professionals, economists, academics, artists and even diplomats.
Mawashi’s Managing Director, Mr. Ahmad Nasser Sraiya Al Kaabi said: “We’re extremely honored to be amongst these global leaders whose companies have left an indelible mark in their industries. We’re even more honored to represent our country at such a prestigious ceremony and to be earmarked with a coveted title owing to our steadfast commitment to quality across our divisions.”
“This award is another addition to a series of accolades Mawashi has won in MENA since inception. We are very much aware of the sensitive nature of our business and therefore we save no effort into being the exemplars of service excellence. This landmark milestone is the outcome of well-measured steps governing various facets of research and improvement over the past two years.”
“The B.I.D Awards serves to ratify the strong commitment of every person at Mawashi to the principles of the QC100, and the stronger this commitment, the better the results obtained for our shareholders, employees and partners. At Mawashi, we have made sure to implement a Total Quality Management programme which highlights our quality-driven and customer-minded approach, our personnel’s job satisfaction, our system efficiency, our investment in technology, our leadership in society and our concentration on solid and continued profit. It is for all these reasons combined that Mawashi is today one of the key corporate players in the Qatari economy.”
The QC100 Total Quality Management model is a management style model based upon producing quality service as defined by the customer which incorporates an award symbolizing commitment to quality. The Business Initiative Directions (B.I.D.) was founded by Mr. Jose E. Prieto with the primary aim of sharing quality culture in leading companies worldwide.
The founding team, formed by engineers, physicists, mathematicians, economists, sociologists and journalists, continues to contribute a wealth of innovative ideas and to create opportunities for all those companies investing in Quality processes.
Over the past decades, the Business Initiative Directions succeeded in cementing its image as one of the first four worldwide organizations to implement Quality Culture in top local, national, continental, and global companies.
B.I.D. is currently the most important private organization in the world presenting a quality award on the basis of principles as solid as those of the Deming in Japan (only for Japanese companies), the Baldrige in the U.S. (only for U.S. companies), or the EFQM in Europe (only for European companies).
B.I.D. has positioned entrepreneurs and businessmen in major capitals and cities such as Paris, Geneva, London, Frankfurt, New York, Moscow and Madrid and has professional relations with companies in 178 countries whose products and services help position them as leaders who invest in innovation, technology, training and installations.
High-level figures and organizations that have made it previously to the BID’s winners’ list include: Valery Menshikov, Director of the Research Institute of Space Systems of Russia, Ali H. Odeh, Vice President & General Manager for the Middle East of Turner Construction International LLC, Mr. Sergey Dubinin, Vice Chairman of the Board of RAO of Russia, Princess Shahnaz Husain, leader of Shahnaz Herbals in India, Arab Contractors in Egypt, Royal Jordanian Airline, Banque Centrale Populaire of Morocco, and Korea Electric Power Corporation amongst others.
Mr. Al Kaabi concluded: “Quality at Mawashi is a systematic, integrated and organizational way of life. It is deeply engrained in our corporate culture and a guiding principle of every activity we undertake in order to achieve sustainable business results.”
In May 2012, Mr. Al Kaabi was honored as one of the key Arab figures in food security at a ceremony in the UAE thanks to his role in turning Mawashi into a first-class livestock resource with a growing positive impact on the local economy.
