Stenden students entice guests with 1001 Nights

“One Thousand and One Nights” or “Alf Laylah wa-laylah” hosted by Qatar Global Events team made up of students from Stenden University Qatar on 27th June 2012 at Sharq Village & Spa depicted the feeling of a real Arabian night in a storytelling theme to an audience of 120 guests.

Artists from various Arab regions of the Middle East such as Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine and Qatar performed different traditional dance performances and music.

The event was organized by nine students studying International Tourism Management and International Hospitality Management at Stenden University as part of their Event Management minor. Each student team needed to choose a social community project to which they donate their proceedings of the evening. Qatar Global Events decided to support projects in Mauritania and Indonesia.

The main theme of the event was to entice and involve the audience in the different cultural performances and create awareness and understanding between different Arabian cultures and heritage.

Gratitude is expressed to the sponsors who participated into making “One Thousand and One Nights” a reality: Commercial Bank Qatar, Almuftah Group, ‘Four A’ real estate company, photo live, Al Sharq Newspaper and ‘Sharq Village & Spa’ hotel for their hospitality and services.
