The July 2012 Doha Trade Fair opens its doors to welcome the world

The July 2012 Doha Trade Fair, Qatar’s twice annual largest trade festival, was inaugurated on Sunday morning by the Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Mohammed Bin Ahmed Bin Tawar Al Kuwari, in the presence Mr. Abdulla Al Bader, Director of Tourism of the Qatar Tourism Authority and Mr. Lahdan Al Mohannadi, Head of Local Exhibitions of the Qatar Tourism Authority.

Held under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the region’s prime trade show is organized by the Qatar Tourism Authority in collaboration with Maraya Public Relations in the Doha Exhibition Centre.

This year’s show has as its theme “We Attract the World for You” and runs from the 1st until the 10th of July with 550 exhibitors participating from 31 countries, all showcasing and selling the latest exclusive and traditional products from around the world.

Mr. Lahdan Al Mohannadi, Head of Local Exhibitions of the Qatar Tourism Authority said “We are delighted to launch the July 2012 edition of the region’s prime trade show, Doha Trade Fair, and are confident that it will generate a successful outcome for all exhibitors.  As we are expecting to receive around 200,000 visitors, we have put in place an integrated plan to provide the extra services and facilities that will be needed by such a large number of expected Doha Trade Fair visitors.”

To ensure the exhibition offers the ultimate in terms of convenience, the QTA will be providing up to 50 ushers free of charge to assist shoppers in carrying their purchases; on demand limousine services; and simple to use banking services to facilitate purchases by credit cards. Medical experts and security forces will also be available on site to ensure safety and security.  To avoid any parking difficulties, a team of traffic specialists will be on hand during the 10 days of the fair to ease traffic flow as well as guide visitors to additional spaces that the QTA has set up around the Doha Exhibition.

This year’s main highlight is an Entertainment Tent that will stage live shows and music performances in addition to offering a small kids area and two restaurants that will offer visitors an authentic taste of traditional Qatari fare. “This year’s theme reflects QTA’s commitment to host large scale world class events inQatarthat position the country as the ultimate business, cultural and entertainment location,” added Al Mohannadi.

The 2012 Doha Trade Fair opens its doors to the public from 11.00am to 10.00 pm daily from Sunday to Thursday and on Friday from 2.00 pm  to 10.00pm. Entry is free.
