AlMuftah Group conducts biannual fire awareness and first aid courses

AlMuftah Group — one of the country’s most diverse and successful Group of companies — has recently organized fire awareness and first aid courses in co-operation with Qatar Civil Defense and the Red Crescent respectively.

AlMuftah Group conducts similar safety training courses every six months as per the company’s policies, which stipulate an ongoing system of safety best practice and awareness.

The fire awareness training took place in the Old Industrial Area and the first aid training at Qatar Red Crescent Administrator of Medical Affairs. The two separate training events were staggered into two stages to take into account the large number of employees participating. The first batch of employees took the courses in February, and the remainder had their training last week.

Because the success of any training is largely dependent on the proficiency of the person or persons guiding it, experts in their respective fields were tasked with getting the Civil Defense and Red Crescent messages across to the AlMuftah employees. At the end of the training courses, AlMuftah Group HR Manager Rami Yarvas distributed certificates of completion and gifts to all employees who took part in the lessons.

AlMuftah Group Managing Director Ibrahim AlMuftah commented, “As a group, we have a total commitment to the safety of our customers, our staff and society at large. The best way of maintaining staff awareness about the vital subjects of fire defense and first aid is to make sure that all our employees are regularly schooled in the latest developments, in addition to reiterating the basics time and again.”

Yarvas added, “AlMuftah is a company that cares about its employees — an approach that is undoubtedly mutually beneficial as it engenders trust and respect between the two parties. As a group, we are continually evaluating the ways in which we conduct staff training, but fire awareness and first aid naturally come very near the top of the pile. Safer workplaces are happier workplaces.”
