QPM management honour staff and outline new vision at annual gathering

QPM – one of the region’s premier project management companies and the first Qatari firm in the field – has announced the successful conclusion of its annual staff gathering, an event designed to show the company’s  appreciation for the employees’ contribution of the last year.

Doha’s Oryx Rotana Hotel was the venue for the gathering on the morning of June 30, with distinguished members of QPM board and just under 200 QPM associates in attendance.

A number of activities took place during the course of the morning including team-building exercises, as well as an awards ceremony which honoured 15 members of staff for their outstanding contribution to the company over the course of last year. Mr Ahmad Abdulla Al-Abdulla, QPM Chairman, addressed the gathering, informing associates of the company’s ongoing vision, mission and strategy, and Mr Fahed Al-Asmakh, Acting Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the quality of the team QPM employs and highlighted the ongoing 2012-2013 roadmap.

QPM’s vision – reiterated to the gathered employees by Mr Al-Asmakh – is to be a leading provider of world class project management services in the region, and aims to achieve this through its mission to capture a large share of the regional project management market and expand its portfolio through its diverse pool of high-calibre talent and track record of achievement.

The overall strategy that QPM intends to apply to its business in the medium- and long-term is one of ambitious expansion and growth in both domestic and international arenas. Mr Al-Asmkah commented, “The annual gathering of QPM’s associates is an important part of the company’s calendar. It allows us to bond as a workforce, to recognise outstanding employees and also gives senior management the opportunity to deliver key company messages in person.

“Recently, I spoke to the associates about QPM’s direction – where it wants to go and how it intends to get there. Naturally, in order to achieve our ambitions it will be necessary for the staff to continue their superb efforts, and for us all be pulling in the same direction. This is what makes the annual gathering worthwhile – it gives us the opportunity to ensure all our staff are reading from the same page and aligned with a common goal and objective. QPM has assembled and cultivated an international team of significant expertise and it’s nice to be able to thank people in person for their respective contributions,” added Mr Al-Asmakh.

QPM is active domestically and throughout the MENA region. Its current project scope includes a growing spectrum of mega projects underway in numerous countries. These projects include civil infrastructure, residential, hospitality, luxury, commercial, office, and tourism developments.
