CMC hotline now online and open to all

Both residents and locals would be able to contact the Central Municipal Council (CMC) through its hotline launched on Saturday. The hotline, which can be reached at 44999222, is part of a CMC strategy to enhance its services and performance.

“The CMC believes in the importance of community participation and communication. Receiving people’s views, suggestions and remarks is a practical implementation of this belief,” said CMC director of public relations and communication Mohamed al-Dosari (pictured).

He said that the new service allows for user confidentiality, immediate interaction and instant follow-up to make the most out of the received information. Al-Dosari said that people can contact the CMC to offer suggestions and voice concerns regarding all municipal and agricultural affairs.

These will be attended to in accordance with the jurisdictions of the council while maintaining the CMC policy of confidentiality. The issues raised will be addressed by CMC members and the interested parties, and those concerned will be briefed accordingly.

CMC chairman Saud al-Khinzab has stressed that the performance of the council, now in its fourth term, has improved considerably and has won the confidence of people due to its efforts that serve the public interest.

He summed up the interests of the council as the interests of the people.The CMC has also indicated that the council has approved various recommendations regarding public safety, schools, gardens, parks, road works, health and general cleanliness.

Last week, the CMC installed 18 suggestion boxes at branches of the Al-Meera retail chain as part of a pilot phase at public places.
