Qatar’s handball team suffered their first defeat in the Beach Handball World Championship 2012 in Oman when they lost 0-2 at the hands of Spain on Tuesday.
In the Tuesday’s match, the national beach handball team showed a performance that did not lived-up to the expectations. The team missed the chance to compete for the places from one to six. Due to the Tuesday’s defeat at the hands of Spain, the national team will play for the places from seventh to eleventh only.

Some 12 teams are competing in the men’s tournament divided into two groups where Qatar is pooled in group (B) alongside Croatia, Egypt, Spain, Uruguay, and Kuwait, as group (A) includes Oman, Brazil, Russia, Ukraine, Bahrain, and Australia.
