Qatar sets timeframe for City Centre Doha safety upgrades

Qatar’s Civil Defence Directorate has announced City Centre Doha may reopen if its management completes the remaining mandatory requirements on safety and security within a set timeframe, Gulf Times has reported. “Ensuring the proper functioning of all the fire alarms and fire extinguishers and easy and quick access to the emergency exits are some of the items that have to be attended to,” the directorate said.

Olaf M Kindt, the director of City Centre said that 40 outlets, including the 14-screen multiplex, are expected to complete the safety and security requirements soon.
