A steel plant is to be commissioned in Alexandria in November this year as the first Qatar-Egypt joint venture project after the Arab Spring revolution of January 25, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday.
Quoting the board chairman of the Egyptians Steel Group Company, Ahmed Abu Hishaimah, it said Egyptian President Dr Mohamed Mursi would make a formal request to HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani to attend the plant opening.
