To recognise the true meaning of Ramadan, volunteers from Qatar’s leading educational non-profit organisation Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) observe the Holy Month by participating in three special Community Iftar events in Doha.
As Ramadan is a time of sharing and caring for all Muslims, ROTA volunteers broke their fast on Wednesday 25th July with a Community Iftar for residents at the Qatar Foundation for Elderly Care.
“A ROTA Community Iftar is an excellent way to engage with members of our society during the Holy Month. We encourage all Muslim communities to share Ramadan’s spirit of compassion, forgiveness and mercy with friends and neighbours of all faiths,” says ROTA Executive Director Mr. Essa Al Mannai.
ROTA volunteers will also share iftar and interact with residents of Rumailah Hospital’s Residential Care Compound (formerly known as Qasr Al Sa’adah) on Sunday 5th August.
Community Iftars are a key part of ROTA’s Ramadan 2012 Project, sponsored by OXY, which includes distribution of groceries, house ‘makeover’ renovations for families in need and sharing the joy of Garangao alongside children with medical conditions.
