QOC Ramadan Tournament enters Semifinals round

The annual QOC Ramadan Football Tournament 2012 entered its semifinals round after four teams recorded wins in the quarterfinals matches held at Al-Wakrah SC indoor Hall on Thursday.

In Thursday’s quarterfinals, Administrative Affairs Department recorded a narrow 3-2 victory over Human Resources to book place in the last four stage. Likewise Maintenance and Operation team reached the same stage after beating the Public Relations and Marketing 11-0.

In the third playoff, Sport Affairs Department got a berth at the last four following their convincing 4-1 win over Finance Affairs, as the Secretariat-General thrashed IT Department 8-4 to reach the same round. In a press release on Friday, Mr. Waleed Al-Khanji, Director of the Tournament said the draw process for the semifinals round will be conducted on Sunday with attendance of directors of semifinalists.

Mr. Mohammed Issa Al-Fadallah, the Head of Activities Section at the Sport Affairs Department in the Qatar Olympic Committee lauded the tournament objectives and the well-praised performance showed by the  participating teams. The tournament comes in the frame of the QOC’s annual program to encourage its employees practicing sport in a fair and friendly environment.
