QSports Leagues launches Ramadan Sports Festival

QSports Leagues launched their Ramadan sporting activities on Sunday evening with the first round of men’s volleyball games.

8 teams have entered to play in the competition which saw Mixed & Nuts beat Fas Kuttiady in the first match of the night. The second game had the Incas dominating against Mega Carpets with the Incas easily winning the first set. Though the Mega Carpets team fought back in the second set with some spirited defense they were still outclassed losing the game 2 sets to 0.

The third match of the night saw Ravens versus Air Master with the Air Master team producing some excellent attacking play to ensure they triumphed.

The final game of the evening’s matches was the game of the night – with the Nepal team producing some lethal attacking combinations. The first set was extremely tight- Nepal eventually winning 26-24 but in the second set they found their groove and showed that they will be one of the teams to beat in the tournament.

Qasim Khalid – QSports representative explained – ‘this is our first year of running tournaments in Ramadan and we are delighted by the response and enthusiasm we have had from the residents of Qatar. Over 800 people have registered to play in the different sports leagues. We owe a great deal to our partners the Qatar Olympic Committee and The Youth Company along with our sponsors Go Sports and ILoveQatar.

QSports will run a series of Ramadan leagues and tournaments over the next 10 days including basketball and volleyball tournaments for women.
