Qatar’s Shooter Bahya Mansour Al Hamad will participate in Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions competition at the 2012 Olympic Games on Saturday.
Al-Hamad last Saturday narrowly missed out on a main draw berth in the 10m air rifle competition at the Royal Artillery Barracks shooting rage. Bahya, with a tally of 395-30x, finished in 17th spot out of 56 shooters. Al-Hamad confidently claimed 2 gold medals in the women’s rifle event at the outgoing Arab Games 2011, she also qualified to the Youth Olympic Games 2010.
On the other hand, Rashid Al-Athba will conclude his training sessions on Saturday before participation in Men’s Trap Competitions to be held on 05 and 06 August 2012. Men’s Trap Competition will be held at Royal Artillery Barracks with participation of 32 shooters from India, Great Britain, France, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Australia.
Earlier on Thursday, Al-Athba occupied the seventh place in Men’s Double Trap Competition. Peter Wilson of Great Britain claimed the gold medal. Hakan Dahlby took silver while, Russian Vasily Mosin won bronze after a shoot-off with Kuwaiti Fehaid Aldeehani.
