Qatar University’s College of Engineering and Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (Miros) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Miros head office in Kuala Lumpur. The MoU was signed by Miros director general Professor S V Wong and College of Engineering dean Dr Mazen Hasna.
Both institutions signed the MOU to further co-operate and collaborate in research and development efforts as well as to foster a relationship that will promote intellectual exchanges between them. In an effort to provide the most impact, both parties are prepared to participate in a formal programme on collaborative research efforts and operation development.

They agreed to collaborate in areas of research and development, including vehicle safety, road engineering and human behaviour. The agreement also covers other activities such as regular and mutual exchange project catalog and annual reports and regular hosting of annual workshop or seminar.
Both parties will also exchange research personnel and conduct joint supervision of postgraduate research students. Speaking on the agreement, Hasna said: “College of Engineering is interested in cementing relations with high quality institutes and universities with the aim of fostering research and education at QU. Miros is one of the institutes that we are proud to work with.”
