Jaidah Group employees show support for cancer charity during Ramadan

Jaidah Group – the long-established and influential conglomerate operating in Qatar – has announced the success of its recent donation drive, which took place during the Holy Month of Ramadan in support of the Qatar Cancer Society.

All Muslims know that charity is very important in Islam, especially so during Ramadan, which is a particularly blessed time to give. This charity , was a significant motivation behind Jaidah Group’s Qatar Cancer Society donation drive.

Jaidah made its employees aware of the charity drive with an internal communication in July. This communication outlined why employees needed to get involved; to fight cancer and help those in need of financial and emotional support. To this end, the company placed two boxes, one at Jaidah headquarters and one at Jaidah’s industrial area facility, where donations were collected.

Between July 20 and August 5, the boxes were open for employee donations, and at the conclusion of that time, donations were delivered to Qatar Cancer Society Officials.

Mohamed Jaidah, Chief Development Officer of Jaidah Group, commented, “Jaidah Group has an ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility within its business structure and this donation drive within Ramadan is another example of this. We are honored to be able to help a charity of such stature. It reflects well on our employees, it reflects well on Jaidah Group and, most importantly, the cause is a vital one for the betterment of Qatari society.”

Dr Khaled Bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Cancer Society thanked Jaidah Group employees for their donations this Holy month of Ramadan and for being generous and showing great support to such an important cause.

“The mission of the Qatar Cancer Society is to prevent and cure cancer through research, education, communication and collaboration. Through its programs and services it advances the understanding of cancer causes, prevention, diagnosis and treatment throughout the State of Qatar and we greatly appreciate the contribution of Jaidah Group and its employees in helping us in this mission,” he added.
