Al Wakra Sports Stadium played host to the QSports Grand Finals on Sunday evening with several men’s and women’s teams being rewarded for their sporting success in a variety of tournaments that have been run by QSports during the holy month of Ramadan.
Trophies and medals were presented to the champions, runners up and third place teams who participated in basketball, volleyball, cricket and soccer leagues during the past 3 weeks. TNT Dynamite were declared women’s basketball champions, ILoveQatar.Net won the women’s volleyball final while the men’s volleyball league was won by the AirMasters.
Pindi Express were crowned cricket champions before the final game of the night saw FC Carthage take on Grey Doha in the indoor soccer final. The 2 teams were level at 1-1 after a competitive 30 minute game – so penalties decided the winner with FC Carthage remaining calm under pressure to score all their goals and be celebrated as the champions.
The different leagues and tournaments have been sponsored by Go Sports and ILoveQatar.Net and supported by the Qatar Olympic Committee and The Youth Company.
Mr. Ghanim Al Mohannadi – the founder of QSports presented the trophies to the winning teams and congratulated them on their success.
Qasim Khalid – a QSports representative said– ‘thanks to the support of the Qatar Olympic Committee and our sponsors we have been delighted to see the teams and players enjoying themselves in the different sports – we hope to expand the range of sports that we offer next year and we will be running our regular leagues in September’.
