Road upgrading and diversion at Arab League Street

Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announces a road diversion at Leabaib / Naeem area as in the attached illustration map. The diversion is due to the upgrade of a 1.5 km stretch of the road between N5 and N8 roundabouts (Lusail and Al-Ebb Roads).

The new road will consist of a three lane dual carriageway with service roads, cycle lane and signalized intersections. Traffic is being diverted to minimize disruption during construction. The diversion shall commence at the end of August 2012 and continue for 5 months until the new road construction is completed.

While apologizing for the inconveniences caused due to this diversion, Ashghal appeals all commuters to abide by the speed limit of 50 kmph throughout the diversion and to follow the traffic signs in order to ensure safety.
