QF and HMC team up to promote healthy living

An interactive lecture on nutrition was given this week by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) professionals at Qatar National Convention Centre. Open to Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development employees, individual consultations were also conducted.

During Tuesday’s seminar, HMC consultants explained the components of a healthy diet and pressed the need for regimented calorific intake. They also encouraged routine exercise as a means to maintain an active lifestyle. Dr Eman Mahmud, Senior Health and Wellness Specialist at Qatar Foundation, spoke at the session and stressed the importance of raising health awareness both within the Foundation’s community and across the nation.

“Qatar Foundation’s Health, Safety, Security & Environment Directorate is teaching its students and staff the significance of physical fitness through a variety of awareness campaigns, seminars and activities,” said Dr Mahmud. “We pay special attention to health in our community, as this directly correlates to one’s performance, whether it’s at work or in class, and contributes to higher rates of productivity both individually and for the Foundation as a whole.”

Equipped with superior facilities, experienced fitness trainers and medical staff, Qatar Foundation is offering a wide variety of sports clubs and gym classes to its employees and students on a daily basis.
