In implementation of the e-learning project at independent schools, this year training of about 4500 male and female teachers in 50 schools is intended to have a total number of 100 schools trained to use the e-learning portal. Training is provided through specialized companies under supervision of IT Department and Office of Professional Development in Education Institute.
The training program of e-learning portal has been inaugurated since the academic year 2011/2012 in 50 independent schools. The project aims at development of effective online link between the parties of the educational process (student, parents, school administration, and Supreme Education Council (SEC)) rather than papers and routine formalities. In addition, the portal enables teachers to prepare and upload lessons online to be available for use by students at any time.

Moreover, learning management system of the portal enables students to contact teachers and solve home works online, in addition to review studied lessons during the semester. Furthermore, the system enables parents to contact the school, follow up the level of achievement and behavior of their sons, and enables teachers to develop and share lessons and educational resources with students, send homework online and record attendance and behavior.
The project is introduced within the context of the inclusive e-learning strategy adopted by SEC, including educational services, integrated technology-based initiatives, set of digital educational systems to support the efforts exerted by the State of Qatar to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, promote decision-making process in the sector of education at all levels of schools, and up to the Supreme Education Council.
It is noteworthy that SEC has recently launched an educational campaign about the importance of e-learning to students in summer centers, and motivated them to use technology in learning.
