The ‘Capital Markets Conference’ is held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and hosted by the Qatar Central Bank in collaboration with both the General Secretariat for Development Planning and the International Monetary Fund. The main goal of the event is domestic debt market development in the GCC, sharing best practices from other countries. A plethora of regional central bank governors, private bank senior executives, IMF officials, economists, financial media, and policymakers are expected will attend the event.

“A mature domestic capital market offers a wide range of opportunities for funding the government and the private sector,” said Robin McCall, al khaliji’s Group Chief Executive Officer. “While there is a need to closely examine the necessary framework and infrastructure requirements, I believe Qatar is well positioned in developing an efficient domestic debt market by creating a yield curve. Foreign investment can increase the depth, breadth and liquidity of domestic markets while in return international investors can increase their yield and establish a presence in local markets. This is a win-win for all participants – local and international,” stated McCall.

al khaliji’s support to this important conference is an opportunity to showcase its role as a well-established institution contributing to building and developing the Qatari economy and fulfilling Qatar’s National Vision 2030.For more information about al khaliji, please visit www.alkhaliji.com.
