And Commented on this event the GM Lotfy said: “We have done our best in this restaurant to provide the authentic Moroccan ambiance and to possess the admiration of all citizens of all nationalities as We are keen to have a Moroccan piece Featured in Doha, where each piece in the restaurant has been imported directly from Morocco.” And added, “It is a great pleasure to see all the media keen to attend this night to witness this moment of opening one of the unique Moroccan restaurants in the middle east.”

A popular favourite in Doha for many years, one of the city’s first true Moroccan restaurants, Tangia, reopens today at the Wyndham Grand Regency Doha after a one year hiatus. The newly revamped Tangia takes from its predecessor the ‘Tangia’ name and spirit and welcomes back frequent visitors from the past. Tangia, located in the lobby on the ground floor of the hotel, is open daily for dinner except Sundays and combines a mélange of influences from traditional Moroccan recipes in a warm, contemporary setting, making for an ideal place to unwind.

Designed by one of Moroccan’s top interior designers, Tangia offers a casual-chic dining atmosphere. The dining room’s Moroccan décor is full of colour and energy, dominated by shades of burgundy and earth tones, with Moroccan art pieces displayed throughout the restaurant.

Tangia’s signature specialities consist of classic Moroccan dishes created from the most well-known Marrakesh cuisine and locally sourced ingredients. Options include Lobster Harira, a traditional Moroccan soup with lobster, chickpeas, lentil, tomato, coriander and argon oil; Tangia, a Marrakesh lamb slowly cooked for six hours and served in a traditional Tangia clay pot; Chocolate Couscous Fondant, served with a red berry coulis and roasted almond ice cream; and, to finish the evening, an extensive selection of Moroccan teas.

The restaurant also offers four private dining rooms for intimate social and family gatherings.

To celebrate the grand re-opening, Tangia is offering patrons exclusive promotions: the first 100 bookings will receive a 25 percent discount off the total meal cost; while anyone of Moroccan nationality who visits the restaurant will receive a 35 percent discount plus a small selection of Moroccan sweets. Additional offers for Wyndham Grand Regency Doha guests and groups of more than eight people are also available.
