To showcase its dedication to the progress of the Qatari financial markets and capitalise on investment opportunities across the globe; Commercialbank is sponsoring the Capital Markets Conference being held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha on 18-19 September, 2012.
The main focus of the Capital Markets Conference this year will be the lessons learnt from current financial conditions in regional and international markets, and discussions around the necessity to develop bond markets in fiscal surplus countries. The Conference also highlights what the role of the state should be in the progression of these markets. The discussions focusing on the GCC region will touch on the motivations for developing debt markets and also on successful methods of financing infrastructure.
Andrew Stevens, Group CEO of Commercialbank, said: “Commercialbank is proud to be gold sponsor of the Capital Markets Conference. Sponsorship of this prestigious event being held in Qatar, one of the fastest growing economies in the world, is a testament to our commitment to our national vision. The range and number of financial deals taking place in Qatar have made it an important market for sovereign and international players. By sponsoring this event we strive to encourage further progress-related discussions and drive the development of the business and financial infrastructure in the country to promote Qatar as the banking and finance hub for the region and internationally.”
He added: “Commercialbank has made significant contributions to the banking and finance industry in Qatar. Our primary objective and commitment has always been to provide the best value for our customers, while contributing to the banking and finance industry model as a whole. By participating in the Capital Markets Conference, we hope to ensure that all businesses and Qatari entities are informed about the progress and potential of capital markets in the country, as well to create opportunities to tap into other international markets. We hope to offer the best banking practices and financial expertise to ensure optimum returns, protection and safeguards to our customers.”
The two day event will feature leading specialists in their field to offer insights and expertise on discussion topics at the Capital Markets Conference, including evaluation of the impact of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 on the financial sector, refinancing risks across the GCC for 2012 onwards, and the rise of the asset management industry in the Qatari market.
