High Culture meets urban arts. Red Bull Flying Bach World Tour – coming to Qatar in September for the very first time – is both cutting-edge and groundbreaking. The unique show brings together two very disparate worlds: the classical and high-caliber music of renowned late composer Johann Sebastian Bach and the inspiring street-savvy breakdancing moves of B-Boy crew Flying Steps – considered, today, an emblem of urban culture.

The live performance – which promises to merge cultural and artistic realms – will feature the four time breakdancing champions as they reignite the power of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier both visually and symbolically through dance and thanks to acclaimed opera director Christoph Hagel.
This highly-anticipated World Tour follows last year’s sold-out Red Bull Flying Bach 2011 European Tour which saw classical music and breakdancing aficionados come together and be blown away by the ensemble’s ability to synchronize electrifying body rhythm and head spins with operatic piano, harpsichords and electronic beats.

Sponsored by the Hilton Doha, this 70-minute show will take place at the Drama Theater of the Katara Cultural Village – a venue perfectly befitting given its longstanding position as a gateway to the arts. In fact, in recent years Qatar in itself has emerged as a global cultural hub replete with art galleries, museums and beguiling architecture.
“It is a privilege to partner with Red Bull Flying Bach World Tour in Doha. We are committed to support cultural, musical and social initiatives in Qatar. Hilton Doha, the first Hilton Worldwide to open in Qatar, takes pride in being part of the local community,” said Andreas Searty, general manager, Hilton Doha.
The Red Bull Flying Bach World tour – which debuted in Croatia on 3 May – comprises twelve countries spanning the Middle East, Asia and Europe and including the UAE and Lebanon. “For us, the Red Bull Flying Bach World Tour is a dream come true. We absolutely want to fascinate each crowd, each country with our art,” explained Vartan Bassil, Founder of the Flying Steps and awarded choreographer.
Christoph Hagel echoed that statement, adding: “The moves of a breakdance crew are as cool as a fugue by Bach. From Croatia to Japan: Everybody can relate to it.”
