InterContinental Doha is proud to have Andreas Pfister as its new General Manager. The Austrian national brings with him 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry to one of Qatar’s most popular business and leisure destinations.
Pfister has worked in seven different countries since joining IHG in 1990. Prior to coming to Doha, he was the General Manager of InterContinental Hua Hin Resort.

Thank you for the Welcome in Doha”, said Andreas Pfister, new General Manager of InterContinental Doha.
Pfister first joined IHG as Reservation Clerk at InterContinental Geneva in 1990. He was assigned next to Mayfair InterContinental London and then to InterContinental Luxembourg. He continuously climbed IHG’s corporate ladder as he gained more expertise and exposure to its different brands in different countries.
Since 1998 to 2001, he served Forum Hotel Munich (by InterContinental) in different capacities. From being a Front Office Manager he was promoted as Director of Sales & Reservations and then as Director of Sales & Reservations and Regional Coordinator for South Germany.
Pfister’s proven track record in the industry came in handy during opening of IHG properties in China and India. He was part of the opening team at InterContinental Financial Street Beijing in the capacity of Executive Assistant Manager in 2005.
In 2007, he spearheaded the opening of InterContinental Beijing Beichen as General Manager. His primary responsibility with the 337 guestrooms and suites property was to open it prior to the Olympic Games 2008 and position the hotel as a luxury hotel in the North Area of Beijing. Under his leadership, the Hotel received various recognitions such as ‘One of China’s Foremost Luxury Brands 2009’ by Ganfencu (Men’s Magazine) and 2009 Best New Opening Hotel in North China by Golden Pillow Award.
While in 2010, he headed the opening of InterContinental & Holiday Inn New Delhi Mayur Vihar. Pfister is fluent in German, English and French. The father of two and golf enthusiast earned his diploma from School of Hotel Management in Vienna.
